We are at a sadly bizarre
time in our (US) history:

Observations:

The East wing of the White House has been demolished in the last few days in anticipation of a new Ball Room at a cost of $300 million, from private donations. According to Trump it’s “going to be probably the finest ballroom ever built, and we’re doing it to no cost to the country.”
ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) is now our largest Police Force. They are operating with impunity and independently from local authorities in detaining many innocent people. ICE documents reveal a road-map (last updated July 30, 2025) showing aims to nearly double the number of “mega-detention” centers (those capable of housing at least 1,000 detainees) by end of year. For example: by end of year ICE expects to have 49 facilities of 1,000+ capacity, up from 29.
Secretary of War Hegseth, speaking to 500 Generals and Admirals bragged about the the new “un-woke” military breaking things and killing. Now, they are blowing up fast moving boats in the Caribbean and Pacific. The U.S. military has killed at least 37 people in nine strikes against “drug-smuggling” vessels in the Caribbean Sea and eastern Pacific Ocean. No evidence of any offense has been shared. This guy should be a video game villain!
Trump recently posted an AI video of himself wearing a crown in a fighter plane dumping a fecal-like substance (shit) on a peaceful rally.  The speaker of the house, Mike Johnson, called it an example of “satire”.
Trump has filed two claims with the Justice Department seeking $230 million in damages related to the FBI’s 2022 search of his Mar-a-Lago property for classified documents and for a the investigation into ties between Russia and his 2016 presidential campaign.

Charles Ponzi would be impressed. According to Trump the decision “would have to go across my desk”.
There’s a paper bag from Cava with $50,000 in it handed over to our “Border Czar”, Tom Homan, by some FBI agents as part of a sting. The investigation was closed by the FBI in September 2025 and no one is saying where the money went.
The administration is about to prop up the sagging Argentine Peso with up to $40 Billion. The support appears to be conditional on the current president Javier Milei’s party winning the upcoming mid-term election.
$40 Billion
The Ways and Means Oversight Subcommittee members expressed concerns that the bailout is an inappropriate use of U.S. taxpayer funds to influence Argentina’s upcoming election in favor of President Trump’s political ally, Argentine President Javier Milei.
According to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent: “Argentina faces a moment of acute illiquidity. The U.S. Treasury is prepared, immediately, to take whatever exceptional measures are warranted to provide stability to markets.”
Oh, and major hedge funds, including those led by a friend of Mr. Bessent, stand to benefit financially from an Argentina economic lifeline. Funds at investment firms including BlackRock, Fidelity, and Pimco are heavily invested in Argentina, as are investors such as Robert Citrone with Discovery Capital, who worked with Mr. Bessent when both worked for George Soros.
The government of Ontario ran a television and social media ad in the U.S. that used excerpts from a 1987 radio address where Ronald Reagan spoke out forcefully against tariffs.
Trump responded by calling the ad a “fraud” and announced he was terminating all trade talks with Canada. He claimed that Reagan “LOVED TARIFFS FOR OUR COUNTRY” and accused Canada of trying to “illegally influence the United States Supreme Court”.
The Reagan Foundation’s official transcript shows that Reagan began his 1987 radio address by justifying his decision to impose tariffs on Japan. However, he then transitioned to a lengthy section on the dangers of protectionism and tariffs in general. In his remarks, he stated, “Trade barriers hurt every American worker and every American family,” a quote featured prominently in the Ontario ad. The ad selectively edited out the context about Japan, which prompted the complaint from Trump and the Reagan Foundation.

Bad Bunny at the Super Bowl!

The 31-year-old born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio has been vocal in his opposition to Trump and his policies. He decided to do a 31-day residency in Puerto Rico, avoiding stops in the mainland U.S., citing concerns about the mass deportation of Latinos.
Trump says “I don’t know who he is. I don’t know why they’re doing it. It’s, like, crazy. I think it’s absolutely ridiculous.”

Estoy deseando que Bad Bunny!
